Dear Franklin Heights Families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. The staff at Franklin Heights is very excited for the upcoming year after a very unique, but successful, 2020-2021 school. Our students, staff, and community have proven we are ready for any challenge after the past two school years. We are so proud of the resiliency of our Falcon Family. Our hope is this school year brings us back to a more traditional school year than the past two years. We are a mask-friendly school district. Masks are recommended, but not required, with the exception of school buses. Currently, a CDC Order requires masks on all public transportation, which includes school buses. We will continue other layered protocols and cleaning practices to maximize safety and are the least intrusive to traditional educational practice. More specific details will be shared as we get closer to the start of the school year.
Along with the new students we welcome to Franklin Heights each school year, there are always a few new faces amongst the faculty and office staff. This year, there are only a few new faces among the teaching staff. Administratively, I am happy to be returning for my seventh year at Franklin Heights. Mrs. Siemer and Mrs. Travis continue in their roles as assistant principals. Mr. Mullins joins our administrative team as our new Athletic Director. Listed below are opportunities for students and families to meet the new teachers and greet the returning staff prior to the start of school on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 (First Day of School).
August 17th, 2021 1:00 - 4:00 Freshman Orientation Event (more information will be shared prior to the event).
August 18th, 2021 5:00 - 7:00 Schedule pickup / form completion for returning students
August 23rd, 2021 5:00 - 7:00 FHHS Open House
Please note, our Open House is on Monday, August 23rd, 2021, two days prior to the start of school. Our goal is to give students and families the opportunity to meet teachers prior to the school year beginning and establish open lines of communications between school and home from the very first day of school.
Information regarding the start of the school year, freshman orientation specifics, and reminders of pickup / drop off locations will be shared in later communications. The administrative offices are currently open from 8:00am - 3:00pm. Please call the school at (614) 801-3200 if you have any questions.
